The Lanehouse duo (that’s me and Jussara) set off west on our travels to the Emerald Isle on the 18th of December. Obviously we were met with a delay at Pudong Airport – when are you not?! This little set back cost us our connecting flight in London but thankfully we were able to change our flight to an airport closer to home – 2 hours drive closer to home in fact! Unfortunately all this change misplaced one crucial item, my bag which happened to also contain 3 bridesmaids dresses for a Christmas wedding (cue even more stressed mother of the bride)!
We began our wet and windy adventure at the Cliffs of Moher, only of course after collecting another ex-Shanghai-pat! They were nothing short of incredible and breath-taking – the pictures say it all! We made a lot more stops along the trip to Kerry, Tipperary, Limerick, and of course the beach at Ballybunion for a New Year’s Day dip.
Christmas was full of stuffing ourselves silly with chocolate and milk – two of the things we crave the most in Shanghai. During our stay we are delighted to announce we were met with three storms (Eva, Frank and Gertrude) but that didn’t stop us having an ammmmmazing time!
But now we are back in business and will hopefully be back in shape soon too (New Years resolutions and all). You can expect to have your daily fix of Shanghai stories to keep you entertained!
Here’s to 2016 – stay tuned because we have some awesome things in the pipeline!
